 Well, we all can’t shoot lasers out of our eyes and fly. Some guys are just regular ass dudes that want to make a difference. We spotlight them here in a series we like to call the NO POWERS CLUB. We salute you, normal guys.
In a world of photon cannons and lighsabers, a fella that is really good at shoots an ancient weapon seems a little out of place. In the case of Green Arrow, he finds a way to still play with the big boys but keeps his no power status.
GREEN SOUNDS ABOUT RIGHT: Although his quiver of arrows remains his main weapon, his American Express card comes in at a close second. Like Bruce Wayne and Tony Stark, Oliver Queen kicks it billionaire industrialist style. He is out kicking ass when he is isn’t in the boardroom, so he can afford to constantly replace his green gear and upgrade with the newest models.
ARROWS: GA has been known to employ quite a few fancy arrows over the years. In the Golden Age, shooting down badguys with razor tips was frowned upon, so creator Mort Weisinger improvised. An arrow with a little boxing glove on the end of it could still subdue a villain, right? Well, I guess. He also used bomb arrows and Batman-esque bolas, but these days the steel tips are preferred.
LADIES LOVE A MAN WITH A FEATHER: If there was ever was to be DC’s quintessential ladies man, it was surely be Green Arrow. Ollie has humped his way all over the DC Universe, littering the globe with illegitimate children and laying down every lass that he came across. His love Black Canary ditched him a few times because of his constant whoring, but recently they tied the knot locking Ollie into the proverbial ball and chain. Yeah, lets see how long that lasts. Ol’ Ollie will be back to skirt chasing any day now.
KEEPING UP WITH THE JLA: Even though he lacks powers, GA holds his own among the gods. A long time member of the JLA, Ollie has always pulled his weight and continually took one for the team. He even got himself blown up trying to save them. The only one with the gall to tell Bats to stuff it, Green Arrow is known as little bit of hard case but knows when to shut up and do the right thing. No one really helped him when his ward Speedy got hooked on junk, but nobody’s perfect.
