Zack Snyder, who was recently revealed as being listed on Christopher Nolan’s short list of directors, has been chosen to helm the highly anticiapted reboot of the Superman franchise reports Deadline.

“I’ve been a big fan of the character for a long time, he’s definitely the king of all superheroes, he’s the one,” Snyder told Deadline. “It’s early yet, but I can tell you that what David and Chris have done with the story so far definitely has given me a great insight into a way to make him feel modern. I’ve always felt he was kind of awesome. I’ll finish Sucker Punch and get right at it.”

Shortly before the list was revealed, Snyder had reported that he was approached for the job, but had turned it down. It seems as though it was just a cover up to throw folks off the idea. He is definitely an interesting choice to bring the MAn of Steel back to the big screen. His use of green screens and stunning camera work could bring a whole new light to the character. Snyder is most known for his work on the films 300 and Watchmen. His next film, Suckerpunch, is set to open next March.
