Did Teresa Palmer Confim Talia Al Ghul for The Dark Knight Rises?
Movie News — By ecksmanfan on November 23, 2010 9:44 pmIn a recent interview with Movieweb, actress Teresa Palmer may have confirmed that Talia al Ghul is indeed involved with the plot of The Dark Knight Rises. Palmer, who was originally cast to play the character in the now defunct George Miller Justice League of America film, expressed her remaining interest in playing the character.
“I’ve definitely put the feelers out there with my agents and tha would be something I would really be glad to have happen. I doubt I would be one of the actresses high up on Nolan’s list. I think they are definitely going after woman with a much bigger profile than I. It is the longest shot in history for sure but I’ve put my name out there with my agents and things. So we’ll see who ends up doing that role. My managers made the phone calls but I’m pretty sure that they will end up going with a big name girl.”
As you may or may not know, Christopher Nolan has been casting for two leading females for the latest Bat-film, one of which is suspected to be a villain. The other is suspected to be a love interest now that Rachel is out of the picture. Talia would be a natural fit for either of the women, as she has played botha lover and a foe to Batman. Not to mention, her father Ra’s al Ghul (played by Liam Neeson) was the main villain in Batman Begins, so a “revenge” plot of sorts could easily happen. On the flip side of that, Selina Kyle, Catwoman, has also played the role of enemy and lover to Batman, often at the same time.
The Dark Knight Rises is scheduled for realease July 20, 2012. Christian Bale, Gary Oldman, Morgan Freeman, Tom Hardy and Michael Caine will be starring, with Christopher Nolan directing.
